Coach Bridget

Owner and Head Coach

Hi I’m Coach Bridget, this is my circus and these are my monkeys.

I started my gymnastics life at Negaunee Ishpeming Community Education when I was 7 years old and it quickly became my favorite obsession (I’m sure my mom still has my stacks of VHS tapes of competitions I recorded on tv and rewatched all day every day). I never missed a class. In highschool I was a four year varsity athlete and team captain. I was also a cheerleader though middle and highschool. In college I was a member of NMUs gymnastics club. Unfortunately gymnastics for me ended with an injury.

I started coaching at Negaunee / Ishpeming Community Schools when I was 14 and have been a gymnastics coach ever since (Please don’t do the math, I promise I’m not THAT old).

Over the years I have coached gymnastics, tumbling and cheer in many places. Community schools, the YMCA, Father Marquette, MSHS, IHS and now finally in my own gym. I was also an MSHAA Gymnastics judge for many years. I have been recognized nationally for my positive coaching methods, have been in books and magazines and I really feel like I’m making an impact on the world around me. Gymnastics has been the most constant thing in my life and one of my greatest loves, all I want to do is share it with everyone around me.

My goal as a coach is to always be a positive and safe role model and I believe my athletes mental health is just as important as their physical health. I focus a lot of setting obtainable goals and developing a growth mindset. My focus is to have happy and healthy athletes at every level. Sports should be fun and build you up as a person.

Outside of the gym I live in Ishpeming with my husband of 20 years, our 14 year old son Manny, and our 4 cats (Chairman, Buzz, Imogene, and Minnie). I love to crochet, am a snack monster, adore Stephen King, and never miss an episode of SVU.

Thank you all for being such a wonderful and important part of my life. I’m living my childhood dreams and it wouldn’t be possible without your loving support.
